Manual heating vaporizers have the ability to vaporize plants while they are heated by hand by the user rather than using electronic software.
The heating is often done with a fire source, but is sometimes done with an electric battery.
Thus, the choice of temperature and the heating time are left to the user.
On the other hand, it will be necessary to learn to master the manual vaporizer.
Indeed, if we do not heat enough we do not get steam while by heating too much it is possible to get a combustion.
It's all about precision.
These manual vaporizers quickly emerged on the vaporizer market, such as the Eagle Bill in 1993.
Nevertheless, there are now manual heating vaporizers with temperature control like the great vaporizers of Dynavap!
We will come back to that later, while we wait to see the various manual vaporizers on the market.
The Eagle Bill Shake and Vape
The portable manual heater vaporizer of the Cherokee Eagle Bill Amato medicine man!
This eminent figure is also a strong advocate of herbal medicine.
It was with the Heatguns Vaporizers, bulky but powerful salon vaporizers that he discovered this practice.
Anxious to practice vaporization in a nomadic way, Amato will draw inspiration from the ancient methods of Eurasian fumigation to design this vaporizer.
Indeed, our ancestors of antiquity used to place hemp flowers on hot stones in order to vaporize the active ingredients in the ambient air during funeral ceremonies for example.
Thus, the Eagle Bill allows its user to spray the plants with a lighter and then inhale them.
When you see the first visible vapours during the heating, you can inhale.
It will be necessary to shake the vaporizer between each heater to obtain a homogeneous extraction.
This glass vaporizer delivers a very gustatory vapor, and is one of the lowest prices on the market.
It is also the best performer in this category.
You can buy it for only about fifteen euros.
Light bulb sprays
Light bulb sprays like Smoke Bubble are very simple and effective concepts.
Indeed, as with the Eagle Bill they have the peculiarity of being entirely made of glass.
Thus, the steam delivered will be very noble, not altered by plastic components for example (according to the model's bill…).
These vaporizers work entirely by conduction, i.e. the plant is in contact with the heating element.
Here, the latter is the bulb itself, which will be heated with a lighter before inhaling.
On the other hand, beware of overheating because they can produce combustion!
These vaporizers are also inexpensive, you can find models for less than ten euros.
We recommend the Vapo2 Smokebubble, more expensive but without the parasitic taste of plastic found in its competitors.
The Vaponic
Vaponic is a portable, well-made, efficient manual heating vaporizer.
Indeed, it is entirely made of borosilicate glass with the exception of a stainless steel grill in the plant bowl and a food silicone ring at the mouthpiece.
This vaporizer works with a blue flame lighter, and is capable of delivering an incredibly tasty vapor.
But you'll need some experience.
Indeed, it does not offer any help in temperature control.
And it is more complex to handle than the Eagle Bill or the vapos bulbs…
This is due to the fact that the plant bowl, enclosed in the outer glass tube, receives heat with a little latency when heated.
Thus, we must anticipate the rise in temperature rather than relying on our eyes by monitoring the steam coming …
Otherwise it's guaranteed combustion!
Nevertheless, it is a very small vaporizer very practical on the move that will delight those who will bother to tame it.
With mastery, it delivers large, highly qualitative clouds for very small amounts of plants.
I really appreciate its holster resembling a marker pen that makes it go unnoticed with prying eyes.
The Vaporgenie Classic
The Vaporgenie Classic hand-heating portable vaporizer is just awesome!
Indeed, this efficient and well thought out vapor delivers a quality vapor and is quickly controlled.
The Vaporgenie Classic works with both blue flame lighters and classic lighters, which is handy.
In addition, it is made of wood and stainless steel, and is coated with a varnish of unleaded food quality.
Note that this vaporizer works mainly by convection, which justifies the incredible flavor rendering of the steam obtained!
The convection reminds, implies that the vaporized plant is not in contact with the heating element but with a flow of warm air.
Thus, the Vaporgenie is equipped with a ceramic piece (volcanic stone) that will be placed above the plants in the opening of what looks like a pipe fireplace.
And it is by sucking into the vaporizer that we will direct the flame towards the fireplace without it touching the stone.
We will keep inhaling gently and continuously for about 7 seconds and then exhale a tasty cloud of steam.
Isn't that ingenious?
In addition, the result is well there, even if the steam is a little hot.
Dynavap vaporizers
THE revolution of portable manual heating vaporizer, no more and no less.
Dynavap vaporizers are equipped with a temperature control aid system.
Thus, the vaporizer will emit an audible signal when the desired temperature is reached.
In addition, we can set the temperature according to how we heat!
So on the face of it, no more mistakes possible with a Dynavap.
Originally, Dynavap marketed glass vaporizers called Vapcap, but this series was quickly abandoned because they were really fragile.
Since then, Dynavap has released the vaporizers Omnivap, Ti-Woody, "M" or Nonavong, made of titanium, steel and/or wood.
It's impossible to break them like their elder, but just as good.
I personally stopped smoking with this model which I think is an excellent choice of first vapo, because its use will be complementary with a good electronic vaporizer.
And let's face it, these vapos are significantly more efficient than the electronic entry-level for the same price.
Don't hesitate!
The Magic Flight Launch Box
The Magic Flight Launc Box is the first love of many vapophiles.
Indeed, this little gem released in 2011 is very attractive, with its handcrafted wooden bill and its electric manual heating system with puffs on demand.
At the time, the portable vaporizer market was still to be taken, and the MFLB was positioned as one of the best!
Indeed, this vaporizer made in America is devoid of electronic components and delivers a really tasty vapor.
Easy to handle once it works, it still requires a learning time in order to be used to its full potential.
The concept is to apply pressure to its electric battery so that it powers the vaporizer's conduction heating system for a short time.
We will have to adjust this pressure according to the feeling we will have in our mouth… Not easy at first.
I blame it only for its weak battery life, because its batteries discharge in 10 minutes while it takes several hours to charge.
In addition, it is a very beautiful object that will present much better on your shelf than a vulgar plastic electronic vaporizer.
The Supreme V3
The Supreme V3 is the most powerful vaporizer I've ever had the opportunity to try.
Indeed, it is able to deliver puffs of steam to make smokers pale.
Besides, it's no surprise when you see the huge heating element that you'll be working with an equally large blowtorch.
Note that the Supreme V3 is equipped with a thermometer that allows the user to control the vaporization temperature.
This portable manual heater vaporizer works convection, but much of the conduction quickly settles into the vaporizer chamber.
In addition, the flavour rendering of this vaporizer is highly qualitative.
Thus, all the effectiveness of this vaporizer lies in the combination of flavor rendering and steam production.
Imagine your taste buds invaded by thick, tasty volutes, it would awaken all your senses!
It's not for nothing that connoisseurs compare the Supreme V3 to the Sublimator, the most expensive vaporizer in the world.
So don't hesitate, if you're looking for a powerful manual heater vaporizer, it's probably this one!
The Elev8R
This fully designed borosilicate glass machine is a true masterpiece.
Indeed, the Elev8R is the result of the work of master glassmakers at Elev8 in Colorado.
Some already know, these are partners of the manufacturer of vaporizers 7th Floor to which we owe among other things the famous Silver Surfer.
Thus, the reputation of the creators of the Elev8R preceded that of their creation, which I assure you is worth a visit.
The Elev8R is therefore a manual heating vaporizer where steam and plants or concentrates are in contact only with glass.
In addition, it is a vapo that works entirely with convection heater.
It's radical, the results are just amazing!
But because there is a but, it is a vaporizer that will not suit beginners at all.
Indeed, because being designed in glass it is very fragile and requires careful handling.
In addition, it does not offer any temperature control assistance, which will require an apprenticeship.
This will involve finding the time and how to heat the Elev8R, which is ideally done with a large dab torch.
For my part, I caress the heating element with the flame in a circular way a bit like a Dynavap.
So I heat about twenty seconds for the first puff, then about ten for the next when the vaporizer is already hot.
This time frame will of course depend on several factors, such as the power of your torch and the ambient temperature, and will therefore require different tests to be found.
In addition, this learning will require the ability to judge steam to determine whether one has heated properly, which is only available to confirmed vapophiles.
But for the latter, the Elev8R will be a bold new friend!
Finally, be aware that the Elev8R comes with an additional vaporization chamber with 14mm connection for glassware as well as a concentrate accessory.
Thus, the Elev8R allows to vaporize plants, as well as concentrates, with or without bubble.
It will even be possible to dabber with, and in a dreadfully effective way!
In conclusion
Manual heating vaporizers were the first portable vaporizers on the market.
However, they were soon replaced by portable electronic vaporizers.
Indeed, if the latter are much more expensive without being as efficient (overall) they are nevertheless much more reliable.
On the other hand, the market seems to be moving towards manual heating again, and today offers reliable concepts with temperature control.
If you've never tried one of these models, we strongly recommend you think about it!
