To get the year off to a good start, we thought it would be a good place to set the record straight when it comes to vaporization.
What is the best portable vaporizer in 2020, which one is best suited to my needs?
Here is our ranking, as well as our opinion on each selected candidate.
– The Mighty
The Mighty by German manufacturer Storz and Bickel remains the white wolf of portable vaporization, and rightly so.
Indeed, unmatched since its release in 2014, the Mighty leads the hard life to the competition!
It is true that it is bulky, but impossible to find more reliable and more efficient.
The steam it produces is dense, sweet, tasty…
If you have the budget to give yourself the best, this is the Mighty for you!
And if its size bothers you, you can always turn to the Crafty.
– The Crafty
The Crafty is Storz and Bickel's second portable bike.
Equipped with the same hybrid heating system by conduction and convection, the steam it emits is just as qualitative as that produced by the Mighty.
In fact, it differs from its big brother by its reduced size of 33% in order to suit those who find the Mighty too big.
To do this, a battery and the heating temperature setting screen were removed from the vaporizer.
In return, this reduces battery life and the temperature selection is done via our Bluetooth-connected phone.
– The Firefly 2
The Firefly 2 is the latest portable vaporizer from the American manufacturer Firefly.
Truly unique, this vaporizer delivers puffs on demand, i.e. it is possible to shoot a puff and rest the device according to the desire or to continue the vaporization session.
It is one of the only electronic portable vaporizers (the only truly effective) allowing this vaporization mode usually reserved for manual heating vaporizers like Dynavap…
The steam rendering is excellent, among the best, thanks to its vaporization chamber and glass steam path, as well as its 100% convection heating system.
A little technical, it will require a little learning for beginners but will not pose problems to those who know how vaporization works.

The American manufacturer Dynavap has the wind in its sails!
Indeed, freshly landed on the market in 2015, they are nevertheless the most productive with still 6 new models to their credit in 2019 …
So they'll never stop!
Their incredible success is based on their on-demand puff spray system and its fully mechanical turbo lighter heater, with its sound help at temperature control.
It may sound complicated, but it's actually one of the easiest vaporizers to use!
Simply heat the vaporizer with your lighter, and it emits a "click-click" to signal that the temperature is reached and the vaporization possible.
Completely devoid of electronics and therefore running without a battery, you won't find it greener or more durable.
The "M" is in stainless steel, the Vong and Omnivap are in Titanium, less dense and much more responsive to heating and cooling, making them more suitable for on-demand vaporization.
– The Arizer Air II/Arizer Solo II and Arizer Go (ArGo)
Much like the manufacturer Storz and Bickel, the manufacturer Arizer equips all its portable vaporizers with the same heating system.
This system is made of stainless steel and works by convection and radiation, offering excellent performance, but requiring a really special inhalation, i.e. long and gentle.
The Arizer Solo 2 is equipped with a fixed battery offering increased battery life (the best on the wearable market in fact) while the Air 2 is a little more ergonomic and equipped with a removable battery.
You should know that the very first Arizer Solo vaporizer was considered the best on the market until the mighty's release…
The Arizer Go or ArGo is the most ergonomic of the three, also with a changeable battery, but I find that the cooking of plants is less homogeneous than with its two big brothers …

In any case, their value for money is among the best.
– The Pax 3
The Pax 3 is also an extremely well-known vaporizer, thanks in part to its very elegant and ergonomic design.
Operating with conduction heating, it generates continuous steam without the user being blown away but its draw is closed or even clogged, which can sometimes be frustrating …
In addition, in return for its very small size, it accumulates very quickly the inertia of heat and become hot glass in hand as in the mouth …
But let's face it, its steam remains of very good quality and few vaporizers of this size will offer such performance while offering excellent autonomy!
In addition, its accessory for concentrates (resinous, crystalline or oily) is one of the best thought out on the market.
The Pax 3 is a perfect vaporizer for those whose priority is as small as possible!
– DaVinci IQ2
Like the Pax 3, the IQ2 is a small vaporizer with conduction heater.
However, its battery life is less important but its battery is removable which allows to double the battery life by equipping itself with an additional battery while on the move.
Presenting itself as the "smart" vaporizer, its many modes and settings should delight the most connected among us.
Its flavor rendering is on top of the lot, without equalling the Mighty or the FF2, and the steam is cooler than with a Pax 3…
Zircone ceramic elements are no stranger to this, they effectively cool the steam while respecting the flavors of the plants!
– The Elev8R
The Elev8R is a manual heater vaporizer, entirely made of glass (with the exception of the stainless steel grid on which the plants are placed) and with 100% convection heater.
Fragile and without any help in temperature control, it nevertheless offers the best rendering I could try, with a gargantuan volume of steam …
Suffice to say that the game is worth it, although it is reserved for an informed and confirmed public in terms of vaporization …
The Elev8R is made by master glassmakers at 7th Floor, Colorado, and can be connected to your favorite bangs and bubblers!
– The Supreme V3
Another manual heater vaporizer, which requires a powerful torch to heat its huge heating element.
Entirely made of metal and with a sensor thermometer to control the temperature, the Supreme V3 is reliable, accurate, and will follow you for years to come.
Indeed, it is devoid of electronic components and batteries that could fail!
The steam production of this vaporizer is just phenomenal, far ahead of all other laptops…
But hey, as it is used exclusively with glassware (bubbler or sherlock) and with a torch of large caliber, it is frankly not the most discreet or the most portable …
I emphasize the fact that the Supreme does not do in lace, so put on gloves when you have to deal with this big tough guy!
– The Living Alternate
The Vivant Alternate is in our opinion the best electronic portable vaporizer at a low price (129 euros).
Indeed, the rendering of the steam it produces is what reminds us most of that of the Mighty/Crafty at less than 150 degrees…
And that's normal because the Alternate clearly looks like a copy of the Crafty!
Nevertheless, it has some improved points compared to the latter, such as its removable 18650 battery and its airflow control.
It also has a rather well thought-out steam cooling unit that contributes to its very aromatic fresh/warm rendering.
The Alternate will be a good choice to start spraying, or as an extra device for those who already have a salon vaporizer and would also like a laptop!
– The Tinymight Vaporizer
We are waiting to receive the Tinymight to test it and give you our opinion by updating this article and then publishing a test article about it.
In the meantime, know that this portable vaporizer is one of the most anticipated of this year 2020!
Indeed, its technical characteristics are very attractive.
On-demand puffs or session spraying, 100% convection heating, removable battery, precise temperature control, stainless steel vapour cooling unit, high quality materials such as stainless steel and glass, small size…
The Tinymight seems to be the perfect vaporizer, but we have to wait to see it to believe it, which should be soon!!
Update after the test:
Indeed, the Tinymight is an excellent portable vaporizer!
Its steam extraction system with on-demand heating is very efficient, and offers a fine and delicate aromatic rendering.
The detail that appealed to me was its ability to extract all the active ingredients from the plant without ever degrading the plant cellulose!
We can really see that the cooking is perfectly homogeneous, much more than with a Firefly 2 for example.
In addition, its solid oak case and glass and stainless steel steam circuit demonstrate a serious and qualitative design.
To conclude, its pocket size and discreet look should seduce many of us…
Undoubtedly one of the top vaporizers 2020.
